Kunming Qiongzhu Temple,Qiongzhu Si

The Qiongzhu Temple is a famous place of interest in Kunming. It is located on Yu’an Mountain on the northwest of Kunming. Inside the Daxiong Palace is a decree originated since Yuan Dynasty Tingyu third year (1363A.D). The decree conferred the abbot named Xuanjian to be the “head abbot”, requesting officials and armies to protect him and to oblige the “Dazang Lecture”. But the attraction that lures many tourists to the temple is the colorful clay sculpture of the five hundred arhats in the famous Qiongzhu Temple.
