Luxiang Ancient Village is located on the bank of the Tai Lake. It is an ancient village that is high in quality, most in number, best preserved in south of the Yangtze River. The Luxiang Ancient Village is the hometown of Wang Ao, the prime minister in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Wang Ao used to be the gateway of Xieyuan , Huiyuan (the first place in metropolitan exams), and Tanhua (number three on imperial examination). Now the three gateways of Xieyuan, Huiyuan and Tanhua still stood firmly there.
Luxiang Ancient Village is famous for its old constructions. Now there are more than 30 old constructions built in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), which covers a total area of 10,000sqm. Villagers live by the mountains and there are six lanes leading to the lakeside. While you view the beautiful scenery here, you can enjoy the historical culture of the Luxiang Ancient Village.
