Sanya Exian Range,Exian Ling

The Exian range is near the Daguang Dam district within the boundaries of the Eastern city, 270 kilometers from the northeast of the Haikou and 60 kilometerst from Basuo ports. The Exian range is also named the Eniang Jiufeng Mountain. There is the Exian hole on the mountain. Long ago, there was a crow that always comes out to harm the common people. One day, the crow caught a beautiful Li national minority young girl, Eniang into in the hole. On the 3rd of March this year, Eniang‘s lover, A Gui brought a pointed knife and arrow and climbed the mountain to rescues Eniang and was killed by the crow. The sorrowed Eniang killed the crow while it was sleeping. Eniang revenged A Gui and disposed of the evil for the common. E’ Niang never married her whole life after that. She went to the Exian Cave to sing love song every 3rd March. The Li national minority people named this cave Eniang Hole to commemorate her. This mountain also acquires the fame from Eniang Jiufeng Mountain. The unmarried Li national minority youth men and women also will assemble at the Exian range nowadays to sing love songs seeking their lover. Thereafter "in March third" developed into the traditional holiday.
