The White Cloud Temple is located on the Huilong Mountain, 35 kilometers west of Ningxiang County, Hunan Province. The temple was constructed during the reign of Dazhong 12 years of Tang Xuanzong (the A.D. 885 years). Later it was destroyed by the fire. It was reconstructed during the reign of Shunzhi and was repaired many times after. There are 300 big and small size rooms. It has the name of Nanchu Saint Mountain. The main hall consists of 24 deities, each palace has big Buddha statue with a total of more than 30 Buddha statues altogether and more than 40 blocks of inscribed tablets with celebrities topic written by Zuo Zongtang and so on. After 1951, the Buddhist priest left the temple and the house was taken. The temple was destroyed during the Great Cultural Revolution. In 1988, society gathered money to reconstruct the entrance and the main hall, which became the traveling scenic spot and in 1989, it was listed as the country level cultural relic preservation unit.
