The Wu Tower is located at the east foot of Wushi Mountain within Fuzhou. It faced the White Tower which is located opposite. The tower’s original name was “Firm Chongmiaobaosheng Tower”.
The tower’s predecessor was Jingguang Tower which was built in Zhenyuan 15th year of Tang Dynasty (799 A.D). It was destroyed in Ganfu sixth year of Tang Dynasty (879A.D). It was rebuilt in the 20 century (in the 50’s) to make it firmer and was again repaired in the 90’s where the outlook changed. There are seven floors in the tower and it is in hexagon shape. The total height of the tower is 35 meters.
There is a Buddha figurine in every floor and there are altogether 46 figurines in it. In the fourth, fifth and seventh floor, there is tower name stele, building note and the stele to pray for blessings.
