The Zhuzifang Area is located at the foot of Yu Mountain, next to Antai River and around the area of Nanhou Road in the centre of Fuzhou. The area occupied is about 158,400 square meters.
This is an area left behind by ancient street area and there are three lanes and seven alleys in the area. It is very amazing that its former old look still remained. There are many people residing in this area. The Zhuzifang area is an educational area where many educationists gathered as recorded in history.
In late Qing Dynasty (approximately Year 1911), there were already three Confucian temples, two county and an official college. It thus became a place where nine out of ten people you meet was a scholar. The name of the alleys in the area is very cultured. They are namely Guanglu Lane, Yijin Lane, Anmin Lane and Tower Lane and so on.
