Liberation Pavilion is located on the east side of Black Tiger Spring. It is one of the key cultural relic preservation units in Shandong Province. The pavilion site was located on the exact spot where the People’s Liberation Army attacked the city breach on 24 September 1948.

It was built in commemoration of Jinan’s liberation. The liberation pavilion was completed in September 1986. The height of the station base is 34.1 meters and the floor space occupied is 617.2 square meters.

It was built in classical Chinese architecture construction form. The Chinese style pavilion was divided into two storeys. Each side was built in square shape and the exterior was covered with granite.

The signboard carved with three golden characters of “the liberation pavilion” was separately beset on the west and south station base, on the second level of the lintel of Gaunxuan Pavilion. The script was written for Marshal Chen Yi.

Upon ascending the liberation Pavilion and looking out into the distance green and luxuriant Nanshan Mountain, one feels completely relaxed and good.
