Qingdao Diaoyutai,Diaoyu Tai

The Diaoyutai is an American type construction. It was called “the Qingtao Diaoyutai” because this was the place where many leaders from different countries and governors were being received before and there are luxuriant flowers and plants in the courtyard, exceptionally peaceful and was like Beijing Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. Its original name is instead forgotten by people. There is a flagpole standing tall and erected in the courtyard. Whenever there is any foreign government leaders visiting here, their country’s national flag will be raised. This place was the residence of the American seventh fleet commander in the 30’s and 40’s before where the furniture was completely shipped in from the United States of America. Some of the furniture was still preserved until now. The leaders of our nation like Liu Shaoqi, Zhou Enlai, Wan Li, Ye Jianying, Jiang Zemin, Li Peng, and ex-Vietnam national leader Huang Wenhuan once stayed here before.
