Mingxia Cave is located on the mountainside of south Kunlun Mountain, Mount Laoshan in Qingdao, Shandong. Ascending the mountain from the foothill through 1 kilometer path, you will reach the cave entrance. You may also ride the Tai Qing skyrocket. This cave was opened by Jin Dadin in the year 1166. The three characters of "Ming Xiadong" engraved in the cave was written by calligrapher, Wang Din of Qing Dynasty. It was said the original cave was big and spacious. The Taoist priest, Sun Ziyang from Ming Dynasty once resided here. In clear Kangxi Dynasty, it suffered from striking by lightning and most probably falls underground. The huge megalith on the east of the cave still remained and engraved with the topic "the half day rosy cloud". In front of cave are even cliffs like platform. Overlooking the sea from here, you will see the vast empty Mongolia. Looking under the cliff is vertical and horizontal gull. Mount Laoshan’s beautiful scenery "Ming Xiasan" was namely this. Following the trail behind the cave and passed Xuanzhen cave, you may reach Kunlun Mountains (commonly known as Beidading). The cave is gloomy, profound, meandering and unexpectedly amounted to 2 kilometers leading to the summit. Eventually there is a terminus with a crack and can only hold 1 person sideways and is also called one day thread. After passing the gloomy area, you will see the light where you are already outside the summit. On this road is the company of bats. Upon getting out, your body might be full of bat’s excrement.
