The newly opened literary style coast road connects Qinhangdao and Beidaihe and is the second road that can lead directly to the marine athletic field where transportation is convenient. The construction was completed in September 1989. In September 1990, the 11th session of Asian Games sailing ship and the windsurfing competition were held here. The Asian Games Directing Building is the main construction of the marine athletic field.
It was once the supreme headquarter of the 11th session of Asian Game’s sailing ship and the windsurfing competition. The design of the Directing Building is extremely ingenious. Its outlook resembles a cream color cruising boat. In addition, it was surrounded by water on three sides and when navigated on sea level, people call it “the ship’s tower”. The ship tower has advantageous geographical position. Standing on the three storey platform to watch sunrise is perfectly accessible.
