Shennongjia Shennongjia National Forest Park,Guojia Senling Gongyuan

Shennongjia National Forest Park was constructed in 1983. It is situated in Hubei province on the juncture of Badong County, Xingshan County and Fang County. It is located in the southwest high mountain and Central China Zhongsan Mountain, from the subtropics to temperate zone transition area. It has multi characteristics as in high mountains, steep slope, profound valley and cool climate and moisture from rain. The highest point is Shen Nong Peak with an elevation of 3,105 meters. It has the reputation of "the Central China ridge".
The protectorate area is 70,464 hectares. As a result of its special geographical environment, it becomes the place where plants from everywhere gather. It possessed many ancient, rare, precious and unique plants. Just the fern and seed plants alone comprised of 2,062 types. This area is famous with its varieties of medicinal plants in large quantities. It was reputed as “the hundred plants garden” or “the natural medicine garden” because of the rare and precious plants here and is well known both domestic and abroad. There are many types of wild animals in Shennongjia, of which there are 334 types of vertebrate.
