Shenyang Nanguan Catholic Church,Nanguan Tianzhu Jiaotang

The Nanguan Catholic Church is located on the Lejiao Road of Shenhe District. It began to construct at the reign of Guangxu four year Qing Dynasty (in 1873), It burnt down by the Justice Harmony Corps at the reign of Guangxu 26 (in 1900). In 1912 it reconstructed used the Qing government indemnity.
Now this Catholic church was reconstructed in 1912 , the entire construction divided into the east, west two courtyards, the church is in east courtyard, the length is 66 meters from north to south, the width 17 meters from east to west, the height is 40 meters, the floor space is 1,100 square meters, might hold 1,500 people.
The church belongs to the model the Gothic style construction, the roof is two sides cone-shapes fastigium. It decorated with the cross. In front of the church are three arched entrances, two sides having the window. It has 24 stone columns struts in it. The dome is mounting the huge pattern. The church west courtyard has four buildings. This is bishop government office which constructed in 1926.
Shenyang is the northeast area Catholic center. During more than 100 years from 1838 to 1949, Shenyang church parish seven bishops all was the French, the Chinese fathers is at the attached position.
