The Shisheng Temple is located on the Huangsheng Road of Heping District in Shenyang Province. The temple was constructed at the first year of Chongzhen reign of the Ming Dynasty (1636). It was the first official Tibetan Buddhism temple in the northeast area established by the Qing government. It is also the biggest lamasery of Shengjing before the Qing army enters the pass.
The temple was once repaired in the fourth year of Yongzheng (1726). It was also known by the other name of Lotus Flower Pure Land Shisheng Temple (Lianhua Jingtu Shisheng Si) and was commonly named the Yellow Temple or the Emperor Temple.
Presently, the temple consists of two entrances courtyard, enclosed by two green brick walls with a total area of approximately 5,500 square meters. The entire temple construction was on the south to north axis line. On both sides of the entrance are the bell tower and the drum tower. There is match hall between the Son of Heaven Palace and the Great Hall. On both sides of the Great Hall are the scripture room and the dressing room. There is the Mahagela building on the southwest of the Great Hall.
