The Zhangshi Rock Area is located in the middle section of the main range of the Taihang Mountain, southwest of Zanhuang County, Shijiazhuang. It covers an area of 120sqkm. The main Peak, named Huangyannao is 1774 meters high. Mountains raised one upon another in this area. Strange stones, deep caves and small streams are scattered around the scenic area. The mountains are precipitous but magnificent. In spring, flowers blooms and birds singing. The area is surrounded with mist, and streams flow gently in summer. The mountains are filled with red leaves in august and covered with white snow in winter.
The Zhangshi Rock Scenic Area can be divided into four parts—the Jiunufeng Scenic Area, Yuantongsi Scenic Area, Zhihutao Scenic Area and Donglingbei Scenic Area. You may appreciate many beautiful types of scenery in these four relatively independent scenic areas such as red rocks and cliffs, springs, waterfalls, pagodas, tablets, and so on. You may find different types of scenery and places of interest when walking up along the mountain. Shirenzhai Village, Jiunu Peak, Yunchao Pavilion and Camel Rock are the best places to view the misty sea. If lucky enough, You might experienced the Buddhist light ( a wonderful natural phenomena) if you are lucky.
