Shijiazhuang Dingzhou Pagoda,Dingzhou Ta

Dingzhou Pagoda is an octagon shape building that was completely constructed by brick where the structure is tight and close. There are many fine brick carving design in the tower. There are also stele carvings and celebrity topic chants inlayed on the brick wall of the winding corridor.
They are well worth precious cultural relic materials. The Dingzhou tower had a special function in history. It was used when two enemies pitted against each other. Dingzhou was an important military base with the neighboring Liao Country up north during the Song Dynasty. As the pagoda is big and tall, defending city officers and armies can ascend the tower to look into the far distance and checking out strength of the enemies, therefore the tower was called “the enemy tower”.
