The pagoda is a brick wood construction of nine levels pavilion type, assuming the octagon shape where the height is 41 meters and stood erected above the octagon station base. The tower body from level one to four was repaired in Tang Tacan during the Song Dynasty.
They were built entirely in brick structure. All the levels above were reconstructed during the Jin Dynasty and were in post and panel structure. Each level respectively wards off the arch portal or the straight sleigh window directly. From level four to ninth, the Dougong and the upturned eave are all made from wood.
From the fifth level onwards, each cascade altitude decreases progressively where the exterior outline is also cascade contraction, thus giving one very graceful feeling. The major characteristic of the tower is the erection of a column reaching the tower top in the center of the fourth level, connected with the eight beam columns according to position to connect to the exterior.
There is only one such structure existing in the country presently and is extremely valuable. This tower structure is already different with the general wooden tower. It is also different with the general post and panel structure tower.
