Lop Nur Mummies is on the northeast Ruoqiang County of Xinjiang. It is famous because of its geographical situation at the east of the ancient silk road of Tarim basin, an important location that is world-famous. The Loulan Ancient Town relics are located within the boundaries of the Ruoqiang County, west of Luobupo and are 7 kilometers from the south bank of Peacock River. The entire ruins spread along the west bank of Yadan terrain.
In the history, Loulan Ancient Town was the preliminary politics, economy and cultural centre of Loulan Kingdom. The ancient "Silk Road" was divided into the south and north path from Loulan Ancient Town. The ancient city was situated at the foot of a hill and next to a stream.
Archaeology excavated a female mummy among the Loulan graves which is of 3000 years of history to date. The dry corpse is adorned with complete clothing and with integrated personal adornment. The appearance is delicate and is named as “Loulan’s beauty”. Other cultural relics comprised of the fine Chinese brocade, Chinese five baht money, money from the Guishuang Kingdom, the Tang Dynasty money, the Chinese written language and the incomplete Huiluwen bamboo books and so on.
