In the Xianyan County of Ruian City, there is a beautiful place named as the Immortal Rock Scenic Area. It is not only famous for its beautiful scenery, but also the spreading of Buddhism.
The most well-known temple here is the Shengshouchan Temple. People always call it Immortal Rock Temple (Xianyan Temple), which was originally built in the Tang Dynasty. By climbing up the left of the Immortal Rock Temple (Xianyan Si) and along the Cuiwei Range, you will see the inscription on the cliff. Below the cliff is the Tiger Stream. It was said that there is a dignitary called Yuan, who always passed by here on a Tiger, hence the name Tiger Stream.
A reservoir is situated at the lap between Meiyu Pond and Xianglei Pond. The water is so clear you could even see to the bottom of the reservoir. Tourists may rent boat and it is another experience by taking boat on the reservoir located on the valley.
The largest waterfall-Dragon’s Beard Waterfall will catch your attention. The water pours from tens of several decades meters high and is divided into two parts because of a protruding stone. These two strings are like the beard of a dragon, and hence the name. Another highlight of the area is the camellia tree which already has a long history of 1,300 years. It is the oldest camellia tree that was discovered in the world.
