Beijing Great Hall of the People,Renmin Dahuitang

The Great Hall of the People was built on 24th September 1959. The Great Hall of the People is located on the west of the Tian’anmen Square. With a floor space of over 171,800 square meters, it is one of the 10 major buildings constructed in Beijing in the 50’s of the 20th century. The country’s highest state --- the National People’s Congress is held here to discuss the national affairs. Meetings and the office for the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress will be held here in future.
The Great Hall of the People involves more than 31 provinces including Taiwan, and is named after different provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions and special administrative regions. The respective officials meeting with the premier for discussion were held in their region hall. Greetings foreign guests are hold at the entrance and foreign guest’s state banquet is also hold here. The Chinese country leader’s final election result is also announced from here. Being able to come here brings proudness.
