Xining Great Mosque,Da Qingzhen Si

Great Mosque was constructed in the Hongwu Year during the Ming Dynasty and has more than 600 years of history to date. It was constructed upon request by the senior Hui tribe general, Siping Hou Muying upon approval from Ming Taizu, Zhu Yuanzhang. It went through several major extensions later on and the scale was huge.
The Big East Gate Islamic Temple is one of the four big mosques of the western area of the country. It already possessed more than 600 years of history to date. The temple area amounted to 11,940 square meters. Everywhere in the palace and the entire big temple appear plainly refined, dignified solemn and respectful and filled with rich Islamic characteristics. The Big East Gate Islamic Temple is the religious activities place of general Muslim population and is also the highest research school of Islamic studies.
