Bowang Mountain Scenic Area situated in the western part of Xingwen county, about 26 kilometers from the center of Yibin, is characterized by typical karst gorges, waterfalls, karst dolines, bamboo forest and spinulose tree ferns (Cyathea spinulosa). Covering an area of 20 sq kms, the area boasts a world rarity in the 100-meter high, eroded doline waterfall at Flying Mist Cave. The Flying Mist Cave contains many other geo-heritage treasures, such as a gorge, natural bridge and a skylight. The retrogressive erosion-type waterfalls, such as Spring-snow Waterfall, Three-brook Waterfall and Bride’s Wedding Clothes Waterfall, are elegant and charming. There are many kettle holes of different sizes and shapes on the riverbeds. In addition to the unique geo-heritage landscapes the Bowang Mountain Scenic Area comprises flourishing bamboo forest, graceful natural scenery and ancient and mystical relics
