Yibin Seven Stars Mountain Tower,Qixiang Shan Ta

The Seven Stars Mountain Tower is commonly called the Black Tower. It is located in countryside area of Yibin City, Sichuan province. The tower was built in Jiajing year (Year 1522 – 1566) and is a brother tower of the white tower of East Mountain.

In Taba village which is 10 kilometers south of Yibin City stood a peak on the Seven Stars Mountain. The center of the tower is hollow and it was built with stones structure. The base is called Xumi Seat; its height is 1.7 meters high, the length on each side is 4.4 meters long and the tower is 30.7 meters high.

The tower is hexagon shaped where the top has already collapsed in prior year. There exist only 7 floors of the tower now. There are some empty rooms in the tower and Buddha statues were put in the room. There are also many basso-relievo and stone inscriptions in the tower with a spiral staircase leading upwards.

The tower is connected floor by floor and the brim of the 7th floor is the secret top. There are solid pillars in the tower and there is a niche room in every floor. The stair is made of brick and in spiral shape from left to right with altogether 118 steps.
