China sturgeon is listed under the national level key protection name list as “wild animal protection method”. It is the most ancient vertebrate on earth and is the common fish ancestor of ancient stickleback’s descendant. It has more than 100,004,000 million years of history to date.
It has the fine reputation of living fossil and is the biggest with the longest life among fresh water fishe. The length of a grown-up Chinese sturgeon can amounts to more than four meters with the weight surpassing thousands of catties. The Chinese sturgeon garden is located within the Xiaoxi Tower of Yichang City. It is a fixed traveling point equipped with sturgeon hall in the garden, the specimen hall, the alligator hall and the long corridor of Shui national minority and so on.
