Yichang Qu Yuan’s Hometown,Qu Yuan Guli

Quyuan is a great poet in the Warring States Period (475BC-221BC). His hometown is in Zigui, Yichang, Hubei Province. At the east gate of Zigui town, a large gateway was erected. On the gateway are the four Chinese characters “Qu Yuan’s Hometown” written by Guo Moruo, a famous poet in China. Qu Yuan Ancestral Hall is in the Zigui Town.
When building the Gezhou Dam, Zigui town is in the area and was covered with water. Therefore the people in Zigui moved out of the city while the stone gateway and Qu Yuan Ancestral Hall were also removed.
