Erqi Cenotaph is situated in Erqi square of Zhengzhou city. It was constructed for commemorating Erqi workers’strike. In order to commemorate this great strike movement and Erqi martyr, it inherited and carried Erqi honorable revolutionary struggle tradition.
In 1951, Erqi Square was constructed near the former site of Changchun Bridge. At that time, a 15 meters high a wooden monument was constructed in the field. Reconstruction work was carried out on the tower in 1971, bringing the present tower system.
Erqi Cenotaph has double parallel tower body. The entire height of the tower is 63 meters. There are altogether 14 storeys (including three storey of basement). It was constructed in reinforced concrete structure. Erqi Cenotaph is an important symbolic building in Zhengzhou and is also the place where tourists both domestic and foreign must visit.
