The Pagoda Forest is located 250 meters west from Shaolin Temple. It is the tomb where Buddhists from all previous dynasties were buried. The occupying land area is approximately more than 21,000 square meters. There are more than 230 ancinet towers from Tang Dynasty and previous dynasties.
It is the biggest Forest Pagoda in the country. There are various types of construction structure grave towers in brick and stone. Among them, there are two towers from Tang Dynasty and Song Dynasty respectively. There are also to towers from Jin Dynasty, 46 towers from Yuan Dynasty, 148 towers from Ming Dynasty and the remainders are of Qing tower and unclear dynasty. The tower’s model varies in different structure. It is a treasury to study the country ancient times’ bricks and stones construction and the art of carving.
