Emperor Suiyang’s Mausoleum occupies a total land area of 30,000 square meters. It is composed by the stone decorative archway, the mausoleum gate, the city wall, stone Que, side palace and grave. It is a rare king burial style found in the world. It is also of the typical construction style of Sui and Tang dynasties.
The grave was constructed in extremely neat flat topping pyramid shape where the height is 12 meters. On the four sides were the rule isosceles trapezoids where the length of the side is 8 meters and 29 meters respectively. There is a giant tombstone erected in front of the grave where the foundation was in stairs and ladders style.
The upper is in laminated cloud and the right side of the middle part was inscribed with “the stone construction by former Zhejiang Governor, Ruan Yuanjian during Jaiqing 13 years of Qing Dynasty”. The center was engraved with “Emperor Yangdi in Sui Dynasty mausoleum“, where each character is approximately washing basin size. On the lower right side is inscription of “Iraq colorful ribbon topic by Tingzhou, Governor of prefecture of Yangzhou”.
