Zhuhai White Lotus Lake,Bailian Hu

White Lotus Lake acquires fame according to two fables. First; the name of White Lotus Lake was originally White Clay Lake. As the soil from the bottom of the lake falls under the ancient Yunmeng area unique quaternary period clay, its color is white. At first, the native called it “White Clay Lake” and the name gradually became “Bai Lianhu”.
It was said the wild lotus root of the lake was fragrant long ago, the petal of the white lotus flower broad as the white clouds, making one completely relaxed, hence the name. Both fables have its credibility. Bai Lianhu is a typical river vestige lake, and is the most famous vestige river lake in Yangtze River.
