Shuxiang Temple is one of the famous “outside eight temples” in Chengde of Hebei Province. The Lama in the temple is of Manchu nationality and the God consecrated is the Wenshu Bodhisattva. At that time, the folk thought of Emperor Qianlong as the reincarnation of Wenshu Bodhisattva.
Therefore this temple is also named “the Qianlong ancestral temple”. The entire temple is divided into two parts. The front part mainly composed of the entrance, the clock drum tower, the Son of Heaven palace, Huicheng palace and so on. The rear palace is mainly composed by the Buddhist image Chinese style pavilion, the cool building, Xianglin Room and the side hall and so on.
