According to the “Logling County Annals”, it records: there are three stone Buddha in the cave, it formed naturally without any carving so the people called it “Three Buddhas Cave”.
Another legend (Yongcangfu Wenhui) wrote that: the people sculptured the Sakyamuni image in it”. The commoners built three temples in front of the cave during the reign of Guangxu of Qing Dynasty (1898) and called it “Three Buddhas Temple”.
It is one of the Dehong scenic spots. The cave is divided into 16 parts. The height is about 15 meters and some can accommodate thousands of people. The stalagmites stand in the cave. The stone column is very wide that it takes two persons to hold it together. There are many types of stalactites; some resembles jade trees with flower or the peacock spreading the wing, the stone clock hung upside down, the thousand lotus petals and the huge see husband stone.
Every part has a beautiful name, such as the Linxian Hall, the Thousand Buddhas Pagpda, the Lotus Palace, the Silver Plank Road, the Arhat Wall, and the Nine Dragon Bridge and so on. The scenery is too beautiful beyond descriptions.
