Huaxia West Film & TV Production Base (Huaxia Xibu Yingshicheng) is located in the Zhenbei Fort, northwest of Yinchuan City. It was first introduced to the film industry by famous writer, Zhang Xianliang. This place earned the reputation as the Oriental Hollywood after long time of exploration.

The Huaxia West Film & TV Production Base was divided into two parts, namely the North Fort and the South Fort. The native called them as Old Fort and New Fort respectively. It was built in 1500 and presently, only some relics remained. Since 1993, there are nearly 50 famous film crews shooting here. This place became the birthplace of China modern films which occupy a very important position in the film history of China.
