The Horse-reaing Island lies in the Yellow Sea, 9km north of Mouping. It coves an area of 10sqkm. It was said that in 219BC, Qing Shi Huang (the first emperor of China) once visited the island and was deeply impressed by the agreeable climate, beautiful scenery, and lush grassland here. He then issued a decree to name the island the “Imperial Horse-rearing Island” and horse of fine breeds were reared and tamed on this Treasure Island.

As a famous tour resort in Shangdong Province, the Horse-rearing Island not only owns nature scenery such as blue sky, blue sea, beach and so on, but also a racing ground which has the capability of ten thousand audiences. There are horse races on Saturdays and Sundays. If you guess the result correctly, you’ll win the prize. Besides that, you may ride horses personally and take part in the other activities such as archery, shooting, and so on.
