New items were excavated from the island recently such as the Stone Age earthenware jar and stone axe and the ruins and so on. According to the written record, some Chinese escaped from Cao Wei prosecution to this island around the Eastern Han Dynasty late years. They occupied this island and therefore, this island acquires fame as the Liu Family Island. It was said that at that time, there was a lady growing up in Liu family and the island was not peaceful.
One day, pirates killed the Liu Family master for the loot. Liu Nv was taken on board as a prisoner. The lady appeared subtle on the surface but was strong in character. She tumbled into the sea with the pirate and perished together. Liu Gongmiao was constructed on the island in commemoration of the Liu family and the daughter. Gradually, Liu Jia Island was renamed to Liu Kung Island.
