Yantai Zhulin Temple,Zhulin Si

Zhulin Temple (Zhulin Si) began construction during Jin Da decade second year of Northern Song Dynasty (1162 year). It was located at Nanyang slope of Dai King Mountain, Yantai Lai mountainous area. It is the only ancient scenic spot temple with exuberant incense and candle and national characteristics in Jiaodong peninsula.

It was repeatedly repaired throughout all previous dynasties. It was repaired both in Ming and Qing Dynasties Dynasty and had the inscribed texts record of Emperor Qian Long. Ten years of disorder subjected it to ruins. The current reconstructed bamboo grove temple not only holds historical record of beautiful scenery but has also been expanded. The entire temple emits the imperial style and grand magnificent sight.

There is Son of Heaven palace; Daxiong palace, three saints’ temples, the east and west enhance palace and the clock drum tower in the temple. In the palace consecrates Maitreya religious Buddha, Buddha, the west three immortals, the Goddess of Mercy, the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, eighteen arhat and various Buddha where the images are lifelike. There is a pair of "sound stone lion" preceding the entrance.

Behind the temple is Longquan spring where the water is unceasing whole year through. The stones on the mountain behind the temple are rugged and dissimilar in shape and form such as the protect Buddha stone, the red painted-face stone, the nut stone, the bed nest stone, three person stones and so on.

There is also the fable immortal bridge and fairy cave and so on, waiting for us to carry on exploring. This scenery is fascinating and beautiful with wonderful mountain and clear water. It is a wonderful place to tour since the old days.
