Yantai Hantong Mountain Immortal Cave,Hantongshan Shenxian Dong

Hantong Mountain Immortal Cave (Hantongshan Shenxian Dong) is categorized as Taoism rock cave. It is located southeast of Yantai City. The cavern was artificially chiseled for the Yuan generation constituting 6 pit holes altogether. There are 36 stone carving castings of various Taoism immortals in the cave.

The cave is divided into the upper and lower level where the four holes in the upper part are bigger and the two holes on the lower part are smaller. The 36 stone carvings were cast using snowflake white marble, the shape is clear and the manner is solemn and respectful.

There are Taoist priests constantly cultivating here. The area occupied from deity cave down to the wood mountain amounted to several hundred meters where a growing piece of Chinese sweet gum is located. It looked like a picture of red fires in late autumn season.

Other than visiting the historical site while touring the deity cave, one can also admire the red leaves of late autumn. The best time to visit the place to admire the red leaves is from the beginning of October till the end of November every year.
