Yantai Husband-waiting Reef,Wangfu Jiao

Husband-waiting Reef (Wangfu Jiao) is located at the foot of the Nanchangshan Island of Long Island County, Yantai city, Shandong Province. There is a reef standing against the wind, the shape resembles a woman wearing scarf and carrying a baby and thus it was named "Husband-waiting Reef (Wangfu Jiao)".

There is a touching legend here, one year on 28 December; a fisherman was compelled to go to sea to fish. He met with a storm and never returned. His wife who had married him for over a year was deeply grieved and carried their child, who was less than one month old to stand by the seashore everyday hoping for miracle to happen that her husband can return safely.

She waited in vain for many years and turned into a motionless statue. She was the loyal and bitter wife of a fisherman miniature in Long Island old society. The stone is a natural form stone and has not been subjected to artificial carvings. This place has now turned into a natural seashore park. It is not only the limpid sea water but the 1 kilometer long half curved shape beach possessed pure white sand that is exquisite. It is a good place for swimming and suntan.
