Yantai Hill,Yantai Shan

Yantai Hill is located on the north of Yantai urban district, Shandong province. It was surrounded by seas on three sides. There were massive coast defense fortification constructed in the ancient time, most of which were made approximately in 1398 to guard against the invasion of Japanese pirates. Beacon tower was constructed.

Smoke was raised the moment intelligence on the enemy was discovered in the daytime and fire was lit at night to serve as warning. The word "Yantai" originates as a result of this. The marvelous sight of east seacoast road under Mt. Yantai comprised of full tides from northeast, turbulent waves shoot up high, the cloud resembling snow and is a marvelous sight.

After the opening of Yantai Port in 1861, England, America, France, Japan, Russia and several other countries constructed embassy, church and post office one after another in Yantai Mountain. The old embassies in different construction style and more than hundred years of history in this park is the highlight of this place.
