The Marble Tower is situated on No. 64, Yan’an west road, Shanghai. It is the signature construction of China Welfare Institute children’s palace. The tower was completed in 1924 and used marbles imported from Italy; therefore it was called "the Marble Tower". This tower became English nationality Judea rich merchant Ai Li, Jia Daoli‘s residence till 1940, and was called “Jia Daoli mansion". The tower is grand, occupying 15, 000 square meters, with a floor space of 4, 692 square meters and has 20 rooms.
The whole tower is pure white; the interior decoration styled according to the 18th century Europe imperial palace. The gate lintel has fine carving and painted in bronze pattern. The wall in the room is with gold foil decoration, the roof has different gypsum designs, colors and patterns. The staircase was built with marble, teak arm rest and copper parapet. The grounds used teak embedded design besides marble. The first floor hall’s four walls were with marble carving with 8 lamps hanging on the roof. The house looks splendor with the decorated lights switched on.
