On the west side of the Bund, you can get a glimpse of historic Shanghai with its most famous and attractive sight—52 buildings designed in various architectural styles including Gothic, Romanesque, Renaissance, Baroque, Classicism. Even though these buildings were not constructed in the same historical time period or designed by the same person, they harmoniously blend together to form an international architectural exhibition. Standing at the Bund and looking eastward, you see modern Shanghai represented by the magnificent Oriental Pearl TV Tower and the Jinmao Tower.
As charming as the Bund is during the day, it becomes that much more charming in the evening. The Bund sparkles with colorful street lights, ships sailing on the Huangpu River, while vehicles shuttle along Zhongshan Road. The Bund is an impressive, beautiful, and special place to visit — and one you will never forget once you’ve been there.
