Guangzhou Lotus Flower Peak Scenic Area,Lianhuafeng Fengjingqu

Lotus Flower Peak Scenic Area (Lianhuafeng Fengjingqu) is located on the South China Sea border in Chaoyang City of Guangdong Province. It is situated on the estuary place near Lianjiang River. The area occupid is 1.14 square kilometers.

It possessed the sea climate where it is warm in winter and cool in summer. The weather is like spring throughout the year. The scenic spot adjoined the Shen-Shan expressway.

The prominent peak named lotus flower peak is a small mountain peak arose from the South China Sea shore, rising straight from the ground and is composed by big piles of petal shape longitudinal crack granite.

Overlooking the distance, it looks like the bud of a lotus flower. Overlooking to the far distance sea, it look like a full bloom lotus flower.

In 1278, Wen Tianxiang was sent out with troops to attack Emperor Qin during the Southern Song Dynasty. He ascended the peak to seek the emperor’s boat and named the place “the lotus flower peak”, together with a carving on it.
