They were reputated as Black River Pearl. The temple situated on the south bank is Xianyou Temple and was generally called the south temple. During the reign of Emperor Ming Yingzong six years, the name was changed to Puyuan Sacrificing Temple. It was repaired during the Qing Dynasty. Presently, there remained five main halls, clay sculpture, brass casting and wood engraving image of Buddha where the sculpture is extremely exquisite.
Zhongxin Temple was situated on the north bank and was generally called the northern temple. There are over 20 palaces. There are three rooms on the southeast of the main hall. They were the study room of Su Dongpo during the Song Dynasty. On the east of the temple are “the beautiful woman cave”, “springs in the cave” and “the beautiful woman springs”.
On the east is the awn valley where there are some pit cave vestiges. It was the study place for Ma Rong of Han Dynasty. It was called by the people as “Marong stone chamber” and is one of the ten sceneries of Xianyou Temple. There is Heishui Pond between the north and south of the temple. It is also called “Xianyou Pond” and “Five Dragon Pond”. It is famous as one of the ten sceneries of Xianyou.
