Tiantai Mountain has the ancient name of “Dong Meng Mountain” because of its unusual box shape on the slope and is called “ascending heaven tower”. The scenic area covers an area of 110 square kilometers with the center area occupying 40 square kilometers. Its prominent peak, Jade Clouds Peak has an elevation of 1,801 meters.

There are 16 high unique peaks, 20 miles of Long Beach River, 12 waterfalls and 36 scenic spots. Tiantai Mountain was once the famous western Sichuan Buddhism Temple and was also the biggest religion famous mountain in western Sichuan. Presently, there are more than 40.monastery ruins left.
