Chengdu Du Fu’s Former Residence,Du Fu Caotang

Du Fu’s Former Residence is located on the west gate of Huanhua brook bank, Chengdu city. It is the dwelling place of Du Fu, a realism poet of the Tang Dynasty. It has Du Fu’s related materials, rich creation collection and is one of the most complete preserved places.
The residence was repaired many times. The construction started from the main entrance, leading to the big temple, the poetry of historical significance hall, the twig door and the ministry of public works ancestral hall. Among which the big temple and the twig door are the thatched house’s original construction which Du Shizhong mentioned. The center of the poetry of historical significance hall is Du Fu’s statue. Couplets exhibition hung in the front hall and the inscribed horizontal tablet which all previous dynasties topic celebrities wrote on. There is a portrait of Du Fu in the ministry of public work ancestral hall.
